AshantiFest 2025 Ignites Cultural Pride and Community Spirit in The Ashanti Region

The Ashanti Region is currently immersed in the vibrant celebrations of AshantiFest 2025, a 15-day festival that commenced on April 12 in Kumasi. This inaugural event is a comprehensive showcase of Ashanti heritage, encompassing health, education, business, sanitation, sports, and tourism activities.​

Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, has been instrumental in orchestrating the festival. He initiated the festivities with a region-wide clean-up exercise, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and community involvement. Dr. Amoakohene actively participated in sanitation efforts across various communities, including Dr. Mensah, Alar, Pelele, Anloga Junction, Tech Junction, Atonsu Market, Suame, and Tafo, demonstrating his commitment to the cause.

The festival’s diverse programming has drawn significant attention. A highlight was the AshantiFest Fashion Night at Rattray Park, where local talents and celebrities like Funny Face and Kwaku Manu infused humor and energy into the runway, celebrating indigenous craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Sports have also played a central role, with community football matches fostering unity and entertainment. Notably, Kumasi sports presenters triumphed over Kumawood actors in a spirited match, ending with a 4-1 scoreline.

As AshantiFest 2025 continues, residents and visitors can look forward to upcoming events, including cultural exhibitions, educational fairs, and tourism showcases. The festival not only celebrates Ashanti culture but also promotes community engagement and regional development.​
